Okay, so I went to the dentist the other day. I normally don’t frequent dentist offices unless I’m visiting my old high-school friend (who happens to be a dentist—hahaha) or I’ve broken a tooth. You guessed it. I chipped a back tooth eating (drum roll, please—) NUTS!
I know, you think I would have learned my lesson by now. I’ve been warned and scolded. But there is another point to this post and it is a good thing!
My dentist visit was fabulous! No cavities, healthy (healthy!) gums, and naturally bright teeth! (Can we throw in good breath, too?!) So the hygienist was even asking me what I used. I mean, I’m not a spring chicken (and chickens don’t have teeth, right?) but hey, I am happy to share!
(As always, in the Hebraic Healing category, I encourage you to read the foreword post, “Healing.Pure. Simple.” if you are new to this site or just want to refresh.)
So, let me get right to it. I brush my teeth with Coconut Oil and Turmeric Powder and I make my own paste. It’s super easy, super affordable, and it works super well! You can do your own research, but nothing is better than trying it out for yourself!
There are greater benefits to this medicinal than just getting whiter teeth (naturally!). This gold-power combination kills parasites and infections of the mouth (gingivitis, periodontal disease, thrush, canker sores, etc.) AND it kills cavities! (Doesn’t fix the holes in your teeth, though. Need a dentist for that.)
HEALTHY MOUTH REGIMEN
To make your own toothpaste, scoop a heaping of organic coconut oil and a heaping of ground turmeric powder and mix it together to make a golden paste. (Sorry I don’t use exact measurements. I just guesstimate.) You can use this paste for days, even weeks, so mix it in a little container that can be sealed and stored—or just put it in a sealed plastic baggy and throw it in a drawer.
When you brush, make sure you brush your gums, tongue (and underneath), roof of your mouth, and all of your teeth (front, back, top and bottom), of course! Rinse well! The paste won’t stain your teeth but it does have the power to stain your clothes, so don’t brush when you’re dressed to go!
For a minty-fresh feel, I make my own mouthwash out of Tea Tree Oil and Water. (A couple of drops to a mouthful of water—mix before you put it in your mouth—hahaha.) I swish that around a couple times, do a little gargle (but be careful, DON’T SWALLOW!), and then I spit it all out!
If you know your mouth has been compromised and you have an infection going on: Double-back with some Noni (a natural antibiotic). I just use the capsules, but the juice is good, too. Take it internally, and you can open up a capsule, add a tinge of water, and make a paste to rub around the infected area—sleep on it every night until—Voila!.
With this regimen, you’ll start seeing and feeling the benefits within 3 days, and hopefully you’ll do this for life!
Oh yeah, and about that broken tooth . . . the dentist wants to put a cap on it. We’ll see about that. (Hahaha)
